The Harmony Productions Band

Jeff Decker - Percussion

Jeff has been a long time member of the Harmony Productions Band, starting with the trio in 1992 with When Movies Were Movies. He has a Baccalaureate degree in music from Roosevelt University, and is an active teacher of percussion and drums throughout Chicagoland. When not teaching, Mr. Decker plays in a band called Soda; you can probably see them performing at any local festival, dance bar or wedding near you (Jeff even sings a note or two!). Among his vast resume, (which would take most of a page to type out...) Mr. Decker has toured for a year with Las Vegas performer Mr. Freddie Bell.

Mitch Straeffer - Bass

Bassist Mitch Straefer is in his ninth season with the Harmony band. He first performed with Harmony in Sentimental Journey, and has been with the group ever since. A native of Michigan City, Indiana, Mitch has a B.A. in Music Composition from Ball State University (with a minor in applied physics in case music doesn't work out.) He traveled nationally and internationally with the Russ Morgan Orchestra for two years. Since settling in the Chicago area, he has performed in a variety of musical groups covering such musical styles as bluegrass, rhythm & blues, jazz, rock and classical. Last year, Mitch spent the month of July on an extended tour of Ireland. In addition to his talent on both acoustic and electric bass, Mr. Straeffer is accomplished on piano, guitar and accordion
