What Is Harmony Productions?
Harmony Productions is a partnership between Peter N. Davis and Rob Kaye, bringing together over 60 years of theatrical experience. Our goal is to continue to produce terrifically entertaining family-style musical-review entertainment. As we like to say, you’ll laugh and sing and tap your toes, and maybe shed a melancholy tear, but when you leave, you’ll have a smile on your face and in your heart. Our shows encompass many styles from turn of the century to 30's/40's/50's to Broadway to movie musicals and more. Some of our shows actually incorporate favorite tunes into a story, making for a wonderful afternoon of entertainment.
In the 1980's, Mr. Davis worked as Music Director for a review group out of the MilkPail Restaurant in East Dundee, Il. When that group left the restaurant in 1992, management, realizing the benefits of bringing in banquet and shop business during the quieter weekday afternoons, asked Peter to start his own theatre
group. Peter had met Rob in 1986 while working together in Elgin, and asked him to audition.
Rob quickly became involved in the planning and technical aspects of the shows, and in 1994 they became partners, separating from the restaurant.
In 1998 they began performing at other locations such as the Chevy Chase Ballroom
in Wheeling and Sun City Drendel Hall in Huntley.
Mr. Davis has been a music directing and arranging theatre shows since 1963.
He has toured the nation with various review groups, and locally owned a music/dance studio in the 70's.
His resume include studies at the Chicago Musical College, Roosevelt University and the Chicago Conservatory. He also was Co-Producer at the Pheasant Run Playhouse in St. Charles.
Mr. Kaye has been performing since the early 80's and enjoys the technical aspects of theatre as much as the performing side.
He has worked extensively throughout the Northwest suburbs in many capacities from Producer to director, tech and actor.
The company is in it's 17th season. While other luncheon/theatre companies have come and gone, Harmony Productions is still going strong.
